Extreme energy summit
On September 7th, CSS joined over 50 grassroots groups from the US an Canada in the 2nd Extreme Energy Summit in Minnesota. From Alaska to Louisiana, Texas to British Columbia, frontline communities and their allies across a wide diversity of issues and tactics came together to find common ground and forge ongoing collaborations to stop the devastating impacts of energy extraction.
"CSS is excited to continue working with groups to build movement away from extractive energy towards a vision of community resilience and local living economies based in land, place and culture," says National Training Program Director Christine Cordero. "Central to this work is how we tell the story of what is possible for re-injecting resiliency into our land and communities, instead of extracting dirty and unsustainable fossil fuels."
